Nebraska women's basketball is off to the second-best start in program history.
The Huskers improved to 9-0 on the season, and 1-0 in the Big Ten Conference, with their 70-67 win Monday at Minnesota (6-5, 0-1 Big Ten).
Nebraska raced out to a 25-14 first-quarter lead on 62 percent shooting, but Minnesota shot back to make in a one-possession game at the half.
The Huskers held the lead for most of the second half, but the Gophers took a four-point lead with 4:34 to go. That's when Bella Cravens hit a shot to spark an 11-4 run. Sam Haiby made both of her free throws with 11 seconds to go to seal the game, making their last-second layup moot.div data-class-rules="" data-ad-group="header-0"">>
Four Huskers scored in double digits, led by Jaz Shelley and Cravens each pouring in 15. Haiby scored 13 points, while Issie Bourne added 10.
